Domaine de la Bastide Neuve - The vineyard
The
Bastide Neuve is in reality an old country house form 1820, located at
the Cannet-des-Maures, a village in the center of the Var, half way between
Nice and Aix en Provence and about forty kilometers away from
Saint-Tropez.
The vinery estate, to whom it
gave its name, is exploring a vineyard of 17 hectars, around the "Bastide Neuve" with its cellar for vinification and farming.
The vineyard in the plain of the Maures hills
The
vineyard around the property has always been related to the history of
the "Bastide". It probably existed even before its latest construction
in 1820
It
is spread out at the foot of the Maures hills, on a soft sandstone
soil, arising from the erosion of this crystalline mountain.
The
seventeen hectars are planted with Grenache, Tibouren,
Mourvèdre, Cinsault, Syrah and Cabernet Sauvignon for the
red
grapes, and with Rolle for the white grapes.
